Animal House Lab
GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam’s Animal House is accredited by the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, & Dairying, Government of India, under registration number 1287/PO/Re/S/2009/CPCSEA.
This 197 sqm facility supports both in-house and collaborative research using small animals, all sourced from CPCSEA-registered breeders.
Scope
- Developing new therapeutic molecules from natural, synthetic, or biological sources for disease management.
- Establishing pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) correlations for drugs and their formulations.
- Evaluating the characteristics, safety, and efficacy of new chemical entities.
- Creating animal models to study mechanisms involved in disease progression.
