Department of Applied Psychology

The Department of Applied Psychology at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences trains students in the practical application of psychological research, theory, and methods. Grounded in an interdisciplinary approach, the Department equips students with tools and skills to address real-world challenges, offering a pathway to versatile career opportunities.

Highly Qualified Faculty

Staffed by faculty who are highly qualified in diverse areas including Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Yoga and Meditation, Cognitive Psychology and Human-Animal Interaction, the Department is supported by well equipped Yoga Room and Laboratory.

In service of the community

The Department has an active outreach programme for extension of services to schools, hospitals and vulnerable groups in the vicinity to supplement classroom learning in addition to creating an attitude of volunteerism and community engagement.

Career Prospects

Upon completion of a course in Applied Psychology, students find opportunities as psychologists in hospital settings and rehabilitation centres, as Counsellors in educational environments, and as Wellness/HR Officers in organizations.
