GITAM School of Business (GSB), a constituent of GITAM (Deemed to be University) in Hyderabad, is renowned for quality management education, research, training, and consultancy. Established in 1980, GITAM is a prestigious university with campuses in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC, GITAM holds Category '1' status and Graded Autonomy from the Ministry of HRD. GSB offers a comprehensive range of programs including MBA, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in management, along with undergraduate programs like BBA, BBA (Financial Markets) in collaboration with NSE Academy, BBA with CIMA, and BBA/BCom (Hons.) with ACCA. With a strong emphasis on academia-industry collaboration, GSB prepares business leaders through a holistic approach that includes co-curricular activities and interactions with industry executives. Industry Collaborations

The main purpose of doing impactful research is not only to prove or disprove a theory as well as develop or contribute to knowledge in the field, but also to create bigger impact by contextualizing the findings in the wider policies and practices of the society. Hence many universities and higher education institutes apply for grants and funding from governments and businesses to enable impactful research. While publishing in premier journals is very important as their subscription and reach is high, creating an impact story is also gaining importance and credibility. Hence this course is designed:

  • To provide hands on experience in writing research proposals for funded projects as well as publishing in premier journals.
  • To provide knowledge on understanding philosophy and designing research elements as well as on theoretical integration.

Management Development Programmes of GITAM Institute of Management are designed with an objective of delivering short-duration quality programs for the working executives of industry and government sector. These programmes are designed to provide insights into managerial concepts and techniques which will equip them with the advanced knowledge and skills in the evolving realities of business and management practices. Participants gain an overall perspective for decision making by integrating functional and general management approaches. The participants get chance to familiarize themselves with the latest tools, techniques and skills which will help them to address the distinct needs at various points in their career. We offer MDPs in general management as well as all functional areas like Finance, Business Analytics, Marketing, OB &HR, Operations and General Management.

Open MDPs

These are short duration programme usually 1-3 days in duration with participation open to all practicing/experienced managers and/or executives. The pedagogy employed involves a variety of teaching methods such as case studies, simulations, role plays, Interactive group works and lecture sessions on theory and practice. The MDP office always strives to enhance the learning quotient of the executives and help them to continuously update their learning curve by developing and offering an array of innovative and diverse programmes.

Customized programmes

These programmes are designed to address specific Executive Learning and/or Corporate Training mandates from individual organisations. The MDP office carries out a detailed needs-analysis of the training requirements of the client and design courses in collaboration with the organisation and can be scheduled at a mutually convenient date and venue. Few of the organizations for which GIM conducts the programmes include Vizag Port Trust, Mylan Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Dredging Corporation of India, Naval Dockyard, NTPC, Larsen & Toubro, MMTC, Coca Cola and HSBC .

As the Country Head of B2C Lighting at Bajaj Electricals, based in Delhi, India, he has been instrumental in achieving 10X growth. Prior to this, Kiran served as part of the core leadership team and National Sales Head at Atomberg Technologies, a rapidly expanding consumer startup in India. During his tenure, he played a key role in securing series B funding and implemented effective metrics and processes to support sustainable and profitable growth. Raghavendra Araveeti MBA Class of 2004 is a seasoned professional with over 18 years of experience in sales, category management, and product marketing. Currently serving as the Director of Product Marketing at Dell Technologies in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, Raghavendra has a strong background in consumer-centric strategies and team management. His expertise lies in computer hardware products, including laptops, desktops, printers, and PC peripherals. Raghavendra has a successful track record of launching commercially successful products, implementing growth strategies, and increasing product profitability. He is skilled in developing innovative programs to enhance channel stickiness and drive sales conversions. With comprehensive knowledge of market trends, buyer behavior, and product features, Raghavendra excels in end-to-end product management and leading product launches. Sapthagiri Chapalapalli BBM Class of 1993 is a highly experienced professional currently serving as the Head of TCS Europe at Tata Consultancy Services. Based in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Area, he has been with TCS for over 17 years, holding various leadership roles. As Head of TCS Europe, he oversees the operations and growth strategies for the region. With a strong background in management and consulting, Sapthagiri has played a crucial role in expanding TCS's presence in Central Europe and the Rocky Mountain Region of the USA. He has also served as the Managing Director of TATA Consultancy Services Deutschland GmbH. Sapthagiri's expertise lies in building client relationships, driving business growth, and leading diverse teams. He holds an MBA from T.A.PAI MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Andhra University.

Venkat Rao Malluvajhula

Venkat Rao Malluvajhula MBA Class of 2002 is a dynamic professional currently serving as the Vice President and Country Head (SendTech) for ANZ, India, and ASEAN at Pitney Bowes. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, he is responsible for driving the growth plan and overseeing the P&L responsibilities of the SendTech business entity. With over two decades of experience in General Management and Sales, Venkat combines strategic thinking with expertise in consumer, telecom, and technology industries. His transformational business leadership has not only achieved significant milestones, including turning around the business from red to black, but also explored new-age solutions beyond traditional businesses. Venkat believes in inspirational leadership and encourages his teams to be change agents, fostering cross-functional agility and critical thinking. Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, he held various leadership roles at Xerox, Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices, and Canon India. Venu V Kota BBM Class of 1997 is an accomplished leader in strategic enterprise operations, with a successful career spanning over 25 years. Currently serving as the Director at Visa Inc., based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, Venu specializes in areas such as enterprise operations, shared services, strategic planning, program and financial management, and corporate services. With a proven track record in global technology, shared services, and delivery centers, Venu has excelled in managing complex programs and projects in an outsourcing environment. He has demonstrated expertise in setting up delivery centers, driving enterprise-wide transformations and automation programs, and managing large budgets of over $200 million. Venu's capabilities extend to resourcing, location strategy, capacity planning, and corporate services, with additional strengths in due diligence, compliance, audits, and supplier contract management. He is also known for his talent acquisition and retention strategies, as well as his commitment to executing high-impact corporate social responsibility projects. Venugopal Palteru MBA Class of 2002 is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and business leader with extensive experience in various industries. Currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Venugopal is the driving force behind GradeBoooster, an EdTech company aiming to become a leading player in the sector. With a mission to provide high-quality and accessible online education, GradeBoooster is dedicated to expanding knowledge and serving the diverse needs of students.
