Dr. Samhita specializes in Linguistics, with an MA (Gauhati University), a PhD (North-Eastern Hill University) and UGC NET qualifications. Her research interests include Areal Typology, Morphosyntax, Language Documentation, Semantics and Historical Linguistics. She received the Sonaram Das Sowarani Nyas Award (2000) and has been invited as a speaker, panelist, and resource person for National and International Conferences, Workshops and Seminars at Universities and other Institutes across India.
