In alignment with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)'s National Action Plan, GITAM established its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in 2009. Recognizing that quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC is integral to GITAM's system, working towards achieving our goals of excellence. The IQAC's primary role is to foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing a structured system for assessing and enhancing institutional performance. In the university’s post-accreditation phase, the IQAC will play a crucial role in addressing the recommendations and challenges identified in previous assessments, guiding the university towards its ultimate goal of academic excellence.
Objectives
- To foster a culture of continuous improvement: Implement a structured system for assessing and enhancing institutional performance in both academic and administrative areas.
- To promote quality enhancement: Drive institutional functioning towards excellence and institutionalize best practices.
Significant Outcomes
Since its establishment in 2009, the IQAC at GITAM has been instrumental in driving continuous improvement and quality enhancement. Key achievements include:
- NAAC Accreditation: GITAM achieved an 'A++' grade in the 3rd cycle of NAAC accreditation in 2023, reflecting its commitment to excellence.
- UGC 12(B) Status: The University Grants Commission granted GITAM 12(B) status, enabling faculty and students to access various UGC grants and funding opportunities.
