Multidisciplinary Unit of Research on Translational Initiatives (MURTI)

Multidisciplinary Unit of Research on Translational Initiatives (MURTI) is a virtual entity embraced by GITAM and stand as a beacon of interdisciplinary research, innovation, and a catalyst for change in the University's research culture. MURTI's primary objective is to create cross disciplinary think tank which brainstorms on issues of regional/national/global relevance and come out with a workable hypothesis/ suggestive measure, that can be tested by an experienced work group, otherwise called as goal-oriented research clusters, in an invigorative research ecosystem. Under this initiative, MURTI centres will be established across all three campuses of GITAM University.

Top quality faculty from all disciplines drawn either from GITAM talent pool or invited from established national/ global institutions will be associated with MURTI. By bringing together researchers from various disciplines onto a common platform, MURTI aims to create intellectually stimulating research ecosystem, liberated from the conventional single discipline centric traditional way of looking at/addressing a problem. MURTIs constantly engage in multidisciplinary research and comes out with an innovative and sustainable solutions.

The objective of MURTI is to create cross-disciplinary research hubs engaged in a goal oriented, time bound translational initiatives. Cross-disciplinary research hubs are collaborative platforms that will bring together researchers, experts, and stakeholders from different fields to work on complex problems and develop innovative solutions. MURTI will foster collaboration between experts from different fields, institutes, and regions, leading to a better understanding of each other's perspectives and approaches.

Through this initiative campus specific state-of-the-art labs will be created along with resources that can empower the faculty associated to perform cutting-edge research. While the MURTI facilities primarily cater to the needs of the faculty associated with it, they are not exclusively limited to them. Any faculty member with a compelling scientific question is welcome to utilize the resources offered by MURTI. GITAM aims to create an ecosystem that nurtures the convergence of minds from diverse fields of study.
