Information regarding the admission criteria and the process of admissions in respect of all courses of study, whether degree or diploma, and whether by regular mode or distance mode (with the approval of the UGC-AICTE-DEC Joint Committee).
Admissions to all the programmes offered by GITAM are made on merit assessed through an all-India online entrance examination . The tests are conducted simultaneously in 38 centers covering all the regions across the country. For admission to management courses, however, group discussion and personal interview are also given weightage in assessing the merit and deciding the rank. The weightages given to different components of the admission process are decided in advance and communicated to prospective students.
Admission process is systematically administered based on pre-determined criteria. Detailed information about the eligibility for admission to various programmes, conduct of the entrance test and the syllabi for the test including the model papers are distributed to all the candidates in the form of admission information brochure and also available on GITAM website. The ranks obtained in the entrance test are made available through GITAM website www.gitam.edu. Further, online counseling is conducted at seven centres viz., Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad (two centres), Tirupathi, Benagaluru (Town) and GITAM campus Doddaballapur, Bengaluru.
A separate wing viz., directorate of admissions has been set up for conducting various entrance tests for different programmes and handling the counseling activity for admissions smoothly. Admissions to the P.G., U.G. and Diploma programmes offered through distance mode are made on the basis of the rank obtained in the state level entrance examination conducted by GITAM, subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.
